Hi @verbandsbuero ,
Can you eleborate a bit further? I think I do not understand the problem. Can you tell mentors an example: What is it that you do, what do see now and what do you expect to see?
Kind regards,
Jeroen Peters
Hi Jeroen,
sorry.
In the plugin is under “Search”: “Include in sitewide search Yes No
All entries in Name Directories can be included in the WordPress Search results. When a name is matched, WordPress search will display the page containing the directory in the search results.”
If I have a search somewhere on my site and then enter something, WordPress only uses my pages / posts to search. But not these entries.
I will create over 300 directories. In the end, is there a central search option?
Hi @verbandsbuero,
this Sitewide Search onder General Settings indeed a central search option.
If you have “Henk” listed in a directory on a page called “test”, you should see the “test”-page when you search for Henk in the website-search.
This Sitewide search is different from the search-functionality that is include on the directory itself, this only searches in a specific directory.
I hope I explained it a bit clear, if not, do not hesitate to ask again haha.
Kind regards,
Jeroen Peters
Hi @jeroenpeters1986 ,
Unfortunately it does not work. i also installed relevanssi. even then nothing was found in my search.
hier kannst du 2 such-tools testen:https://verbandsbuero.de/test-name/
try the term “hennes”. this page should then be displayed: https://verbandsbuero.de/shop/1-fc-koeln-de/
Thanks for clarifying that @verbandsbuero , there is another search engine inbetween. At the moment, I have reinstalled my laptop so I dont have a good testing environment. When I do have it working again I will test if Relevanssi might be the thing that is causing the problems.
Could you also please share a screenshot of https://verbandsbuero.de/wp-admin/admin.php?page=name-directory-general-settings ?
Kind regards,
Jeroen Peters
good morning @jeroenpeters1986 ,
here is the screenshot
The settings look very fine. I will have to check locally if Relevanssi is doing something to my functionality
Hey @verbandsbuero,
I finally had a bit of time to test this. Relevanssi is the one that messes up the integration with the search functionality.
Name Directory plugins into the general WP Search to hook the pages with directories to it.
Relevanssi replaces the whole general WP Search, and does not check the hooks that WP uses, so it will never receive the Name Directory entries.
I will checkout their documentation to see if I can add something so that this also works with relevanssi.
Kind regards,
Jeroen Peters
Hi @verbandsbuero,
I will release v1.23.0 today, this one is compatible with the Relevanssi plugin π
Please let me know if this one works for you!
Kind regards,
Jeroen Peters
