    It is possible, but not the intention of the contact bar.

    I have thought about that and will not implement a search field in the contact bar. A search field would need space and can lead to a design mess in mobile displays. And it is beyond the concept of a bar with contact information. And themes often have search fields somewhere (in the header, in the sidebar, in the footer).
