    The user/group search failure is fixed in Press Permit Core 2.2.6

    This unfortunately came about as a side effect of some enhancements to the user search functionality. I missed it in my testing because it’s configuration-dependent.

    Maybe you will appreciate the ability to search by First Name, Last Name or Nickname. In addition, after some configuration it’s possible to search on custom user_meta fields.
