search by text does not work – returns 404 & defaulting category & more

I am trying out this plugin to see if it fits my needs.

I added the search by text. The search will bring back the possible results however if I click on one, it returns a 404. Please advise.

I use the same image in different art formats ie: one image might be in a product greeting card, as well as a product art print as well as a product canvas wrap. I do not want to see the same image even though it’s different product formats on the page as I want the user to experience a variety of my work on the landing page. One option would be to default the category so they only see the image in one format. Also, is there a way to default the category? another would be to sort by price however the sort does not appear to be working.

Lastly, my artwork has titles and text on them as part of the image. Rather than seeing a shopping cart on the hover, I’d like to display the short description of the product so the user can read the text that is on the image without clicking into it. This would simplify the user experience. Is there a way to change the hover overlay to the short description of the product?

Lastly is there a way to create a category landing page so rather than landing in a group of products, I could land on a page that allows me to select the format and then go into everything under that format ie: landing page would have an image for greeting cards, art prints, downloads, etc… the user clicks into the option they want… Please advise.
