    Hi,

in the search engine filters section of the settings it says for every activated search engine:

“Allows search engine to collect and report data”

Which data exactly is being collected and reported?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please provide a bit more detail about the message you mentioned? Specifically, where exactly in the settings is this message displayed? A screenshot would be very helpful for us to better understand the context and assist you more effectively.

Additionally, we currently do not have such a message in our plugin, so any extra details you can provide will be very helpful.

    Thanks!

    hi Amir,

thanks for the quick reply! This is the section in the settings that I am asking about. I need to document in the privacy policy for the website your plugin is used on, what the data flows are.

    Thank you for the screenshot.

This text was in the older versions of the plugin. The correct description of this section in the latest version is as follows:
“Track and report visits referred from [Search Engine Name].”

I hope the new description helps you. If you have any questions about this, please let us know so I can assist you.
    Regards,

Thanks, Amir! I take it from the new description that the number of visits is the only data that is being tracked and reported from the search engines?

    Thanks again!

No, search engines do not track anything. It is our plugin that records users who enter your site through search engines. This means that if Google Search Engine Tracking is enabled and a user enters your site from Google, the address google.com will be recorded in the Referrer section for that user.
