Personally, I’ve taken a liking to the google search that can be implemented into your website to search the site.
yeah, but that needs ur site doing exceeding well in google.
and that wont work on recent posts (a day old for example).

the google imp needs a google api, or not? It is java stuff, yes?

atomz.com site search is free for sites with less than 500 pages. it’s very customizable, too — you can exclude pages, directories, file types; you can index when you want and see the results; you can customize the search results page quite a bit! yes it’s still hosted by atomz, but unlike google there’s only one small atomz link, and you have much more control over the page template. for an example, visit http://orangepolitics.com

on the other hand, it would be cool if there was a plugin to use the google api … like this one for phpwebsite:
http://phpgirl.com/index.php?module=downloads&DMOP=view&ID=34
see it in use here:
http://phpgirl.com/index.php?module=google&GOP=main&MMN_position=8:8
of course you need a developer token from google to run this; not sure what’s involved to get one
Now we just need to mount that on our blogs in a CSS frameset 🙂
@wairoanz:
I am a bit cynical when it comes to google and adsense. I would not recomemnd to put a actual adsense coded search URI coz google would eb checking for referral URIs and might not like the idea of you using a search result as a normal URI.
I myself removed a similar URI in the post above u!
Just my 2 cents 🙂
@sushubh
You are right… from the Google TOS…
All search queries must originate from individual human end users inputting data directly into a Search Box on Your Site(s).
So I’ll remove the link too.
Damn, I think like google sometimes…
How can that chap try to rob me out of the precious dollars… hmm… they would have a long long long list!
