Search-Everything vs attachments

    Do the WP search functions (Search, Search-Everything, Search All) attempt to search the content of attachments?

    I’m able to search attachment metadata like filename, categories, tags, descriptions, etc. But I haven’t been able to search for strings located only within my attached files.
