Hello. I am using AWPCP 3.3.3 (BTW – I am using the Divi Theme by Elegant Themes.

I have the search short code [AWPCPSEARCHADS] in my Search Page as required by AWPCP.

Frontend problem – It has the option

“Search for Ads containing this word or phrase:”

Directly under this phrase is the text box to enter your search wording. I put the word “costume” in this box – change/add nothing else and press “Start Search”. The search comes back with

    “There were no ads found”

I have adds with the word “costume” in the title (not just “costume – other words too).

I though this search feature should work with only a word or two – is this incorrect? Is there an issue I do not know about or something in set up I should change?

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi Momshof,

This too could be a conflict issue–when you try the test with your other forum thread, test this same feature as well. It could very well be the same issue.

Report back on what you find there.

I deactivated all plugins and changed theme – neither fixed either issue (Random Ad widget not functioning properly nor Search feature not working correctly.) However – search feature is working sporadically – sometimes it will pull up with one or two words – sometimes not.

For search issues, usually it’s best to understand how you did it. Can you tell me:
    – What you searched for? (Screenshot of the form just before you search is really the best way)
    – What you got back? (Again, a screenshot is best)
    – What did you not see that you expected to see? (Links to specific listings are helpful here)
    – Did you perform this search on the search widget, the Quick Search field, or the advanced search screen?

Knowing that will help us pin the issue down better.

Also, you’ll probably want to try the latest version on this too since I know a couple of search issues were addressed. Contact us here to get it: http://awpcp.com/contact/

I have tried searching using all the search options – the search widget, the quick search field and the advanced search screen.

As I stated above – when I search using a word or phrase (“Search for Ads containing this word or phrase:”)

Directly under this phrase is the text box to enter your search wording. I put the word “costume” in this box – change/add nothing else and press “Start Search”. The search comes back with

    “There were no ads found”

I have adds with the word “costume” in the title (not just “costume – other words too). So I am expecting these listings to come up when I type in the word costume – no matter what other words are in the title – as long as it has “costume” in the title – I would expect it to show up.

As I am creating this in Instant WP – I do not believe the links will show up for you as the main page link I sent above did not show up.

Did trying the latest version change anything here?
