Can you provide your site url and what colour you have entered into the search box option?
In regards the button unfortunately thats not possible but you could remove the search box entirely and enter your own with a button into the additional content field instead.

Hi Kevin,
I wouldn’t advise editing any files to add a button as then it will not be upgrade proof which is extremely bad.
I just checked the search box colour and this is working – are you sure you are not getting this confused with the placeholder colour? If you want the placeholder colour changed too then you need to set this option seperately.
