search function on simplemap help!!!

The search function on the widget area or the one under the map it only search’s for the title and the zipcode?

can anyone help me out on how to edit the search form so it can also search tags of that location? since there is locations tags but they just get displayed if i search one of those tags it says no search results

please help anyone.

Hi,
It actually doesn’t search for the title at all. What version of the plugin are you using?

im using Version 2.2.2 what does it use to search just the zipcode?

There are several different options. It uses the data entered into the search form. That could be just the zip code or the entire address depending on what fields you have made available and what fields the user fills out. It’s a distance search. What’s your URL?

try to enter a zipcode on the top ex 07002
in the back end under the add new location if i fill up the fields for address as ‘cat’ and try to search it doesnt search but it i place the complete name ex ‘Hudson, NJ’ i will get a search result

the way i did it was i copied the form after i displayed it using the widget then i pasted it into the header so that i can easily edit the form but i dont think that will cause any problems

yeah. there’s a good chance that broke something. there’s also a chance that the widget has a bug in the latest update. i’ll have to check it out. probably won’t be until next week though. sorry for the inconvenience.

i get it now. the way its done is to search either by zip or city or state or street. is there a way i can use just the zip code field on the form to search for all the above? example would be like the wordpress search form rather than have 4 seach input boxes just to have one input box?

i tried a new installed of the plugin(fresh install default plugin options didnt customize anything) and i cant search by street/city/state its just searches by zipcode
