One more question:
What happens if a folder containing a catalog of files (any files) is password protected – does your plugin still be able to seaarch this folder for users that are able to login in that folder?

Well, if a file is uploaded via WordPress, then it’s saved as an attachment. In this case, we can search through it. But any other files that are not uploaded via WordPress cannot be searched through (at all).
But can you password protect an attachment? Let us know if we missed something here of if you’ve got any other questions — I’m here to help!
