I have this same issue. If any text is in the search box, the search returns nothing. Effectively rendering this entire plugin worthless. After all, what is the point of a Directory that you cannot search.
It would be nice to know howto resolve this.

I am sorry but we were unable to replicate the issue locally. Most probably you are experiencing a conflict issue. @digitalalchemyst Relevanssi plugin is probably conflicting with Directorist.
Please check if it gets resolved if you deactivate. We will check locally if we can find a quick fix.

Just had a strange think happen.
I went to check and entered ‘Creso’ and it returned nothing. Then tried ‘Metlab’ and it returned the correct listing. Then tried a couple others and they worked as well. I then went back and tried ‘Creso’ and it still didn’t work. So I kept trying other search terms for other listings and everything worked except ‘Creso’. I suspected something about the listing so compared with others and couldn’t see anything.
Then I tried other words that were in the descriptionm of the Creso listing and Creso come up as a result. Strange! Went back and entered ‘Creso’ alone and it didn’t work.
Frustrated I decided to disable all plugins and try that.
Then a search for ‘Creso’ worked!!!
So I slowly reactivated the plugins to see which one stopped the filter but after reactivating all plugins, including Relevanssi, it continued to keep working.
So now the search is working fully on all terms.
Has me stumped!!!
Why would one word, ‘Creso’ not work at first and now it has started working?

I have disabled Relevanssi (and Autocomplete for Relevanssi) on your suggestion and the search is now working. Thanks for looking into this, It is great news and has made this directory useful for me again. Thank you.
