second language homepage setting

I’m using a static front page in english
I have 2 languages, english and japanese, with pages set up for both of them.
I have the ” The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks” radio set.
the “Hide URL language information for default language” checked
the “Remove /language/ in pretty permalinks” radio set
the “When the front page is visited, set the language according to the browser preference” unchecked
and the ” Activate languages and translations for media” checked. My question is, how can I set it so that when someone clicks on the japanese language button, it takes them to the page I’ve selected for the japanese homepage?
I want the english link to go to the english homepage which is set to the static page and is working properly but I also want to be able to control the page it goes to when someone clicks on the japanese button. Right now it says there’s no posts and doesn’t go to the right page. Is there a setting somewhere I can set my second language homepage to be?
Thanks,
Bobby
