    I am interested in understanding what security measures the plugin has in place in protecting users of the plugin from malicious code embedded in images or other security risks (disregarding ReCaptcha and administrator image review)

    UPG uses wordpress media upload function.
    Which means it is as equals to wordpress media library upload system.
