Hmmm, this is not something that would be catered for at all in the plugin. It’s a separate authentication system altogether to the WordPress login flow.
What I may do, however, in future developments is assigned certain users as Security administrators, but this is a long way off.
What you’re ultimately suggesting also is IP-whitelisting…. you could white list your own IP

How do I whitelist my IP (ie in which section of Shield)? Is it in the Firewall section?
The thing is that InfiniteWP does log in to a Shield protected site, because you can run plugin updates etc. The issues is that when you try to open the admin panel in InfiniteWP, you have to login. When I’m running wordfence, as I do on some sites, you are already logged in.
Its not a massive issue, but when you have a lot of sites and have to log into each separately, it starts to take up some time. After all, the main reason for using InfiniteWP (or any multisite manager) is to save you time administering your webites.
Thanks

Other security plugins like the one you mention don’t have a security admin, we’re the only security plugin to offer it so it doesn’t really compare.
I understand what the purpose of infinite is as our iControlWP control panel integrates with Shield to ensure great compatibility. But with other solutions you’ll need to adapt your infrastructure.
To white list IPs, use the IP Manager section and you’ll see a button at the bottom to see (and add) IP addresses… this should do what you need.
Try the white list and see how things are after that

I tried adding the IWP server IP to the Whitelist in IP manager, however when I click add it doesn’t add it to the list (after clicking refresh).
Am I doing something wrong?

Is it a public or private IP address you’re adding?

It starts 10.0.xxx.xxx so I think that means it private?

yep, that’s a private IP address so you can’t white list it.

Ok thanks for your help, it appears there’s no solution to this issue. Please let me know if anything changes with the Shield plugin to allow this to work.
