Local backups to web space can no longer be disabled → clutters server and creates a security risk.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback.

We’re aware of the current limitation — at the moment, local storage cannot be deselected. We completely understand your concern about server clutter and potential security risks, and this is already being worked on for a future update.

In the meantime, a workaround you can apply is to set the “Max Backups to Keep” option to 1 under the Local Storage settings for each job. This way, only the latest backup will be kept on your server, helping to minimize storage use.

Really appreciate you taking the time to report this to us!

    Best regards,
    The BackWPup Team

Hope this will come soon 🙂
I Already set it to 1. Still a security risk 😉

I can turn it off 🙂 or more specifically, the location was never turned on to begin with. I did have a site where this was turned on by default (I didn’t select it, but also couldn’t turn if off). I fixed it by deleting the plugin and installing it again.

This is urgent. Please let us disable local backups.
