    Hi,

I’ve clicked every one of the 27 pages of topics but was unable to spot this topic having being posted before. (I’m amazed that WordPress does not have a search feature for the plugin support area.)

The plugin works great but I’m seeing this issue:

(I’m using it in Sandbox mode.)

I fill my cart. I go to PayPal. The payment completes successfully. When I click the return to my site link, after successful checkout, my browser issues this warning:

    Security Warning

The information you have entered on this page will be sent over an insecure connection and could be read by a third party.

Are you sure you want to send this information?

    Continue | Cancel

I’ve Googled and found this (which seems to be related):
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8804428/paypal-http-https-security-warning-on-return-again-no-form-data-from-paypal

My site does not have an SSL certificate.

Is there any way of preventing the security message? I don’t mind if this prevents some non-essential aspect of the plug-in’s behavior from working.

Thanks for your help – James

    *without buying an SSL certificate!

Hi, Thats a warning that PayPal gives when they are sending the user to a page that doesn’t have HTTPS. Its a PayPal thing that we can’t control that from the cart plugin unfortunately.

One thing you can do is enable the auto redirection feature in your PayPal account which might make that better. The following documentation has info on how to enable the auto return feature in your PayPal account:

Thank you for your very quick reply.

This seems to me to be a browser issue: I’ve noticed that some browsers issue this warning and others don’t.

I understand it’s the redirect to a non-secure site that’s triggering it and, personally, I think it’s a good warning (although I’d question the browser authors’ choice of wording: it’ll just confuse some non-technical people).

I’ve followed the instructions you cite. I have my PDT ID. Do I need to add it to the Plug-in somewhere?

No, you don’t need to specify the PDT token anywhere. Just have the auto return enabled and set to your thank you page.

Great. Thank you for your very fast support for this free plug-in.
