Segment based on the birthdate

Good question — segmenting by birth month is a great way to personalize your campaigns. Here’s how you can set it up in Omnisend:

• Go to the Audience → Segments section and create a new segment.
• Use the Birthday field with the Contains condition.
• Since the value type is text, you’ll need to match the month using the format -MM-.

Example: To find contacts born in March, use: Birthday contains -03-

You can replace 03 with any number from 01 to 12 to target other months (for example, -12- for December).

This way, you can easily create monthly birthday segments and tailor your messaging accordingly. We recommend pairing these segments with a Birthday Automation, so your contacts receive their birthday emails right on time without any manual work.
