• Hi there. I am looking to move a site from wordpress.com to ww.wp.xz.cn using the Sela theme.

When I install the Sela theme I do not have all the same customization options. Colors and BAckground testimonials etc as I do on wordpress.com. Is this expected or am I missing something?

  • Colour palettes are a feature of WordPress.com. On a self-hosted site, you can recreate the effect using custom CSS, by copying the colour palette’s CSS over.

An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.

If you need more help with this, please provide a link to your WordPress.com site and if possible your self-host site as well so I can take a look.

Other featured, like the site logo and testimonials, require the Jetpack plugin on self-hosted sites. You’ll need to activate the Custom Content Types module.

Let me know how it goes.
