Select2 Removing it… any bad consequence?

I was checking out to improve usage on mobile by fixing some js related to select2 for the country drop down menu that was misbehaving on tablets and mobiles and at the end came out that just removing select2 from assets/js/select2 did the trick. Just wondering if it has been used for other purposes around woocommerce plugin cause up to now I’ve had no problems.
