Selected Terms Shortcode

    Hello,

    Is it possible to display an absence of selected search terms? On the site I’m working on I have search filters (check boxes) for Categories and Topics. I’d like to display something like “Category: None Selected” and/or “Topic: None Selected” when none of the check boxes are checked. As it is now, the Selected Terms are added and displayed only when something is checked. This dynamic action makes page elements move around. It would also be nice to alert the user that they are searching without selecting a category or topic before they run the search.

    That’s a great suggestion.

    Currently, the Selected Terms shortcode only outputs terms that have actually been selected, so nothing is displayed when no terms are active. I can see how having a configurable fallback message such as “None Selected” would help with usability.

    I’ll add this to my roadmap and look into implementing it in a future update.
