Hello, and good day.

Please I have some mp4 and mkv videos on my WordPress media.

Can I embed the mp4/mkv URL to the plugin?

e.g
https://example.com/content/testvideo.mp4 or https://example.com/content/testvideo.mkv

Will your plugin detect it and stream it?

Well, you can embed it using the default video widget. https://d.pr/v/BMwCCN
On the other hand, using EmbedPress you can embed videos from multiple sources. You can find the detail from here: https://embedpress.com/docs-category/video/
