Sending Group Email

    Why isn’t it possible to send email to GROUPS I’ve created in WordPress? There are plugins available that recognize and allow you to send email to ROLES, but not Admin created GROUPS. And I have no interest in BuddyPress.

    So, what gives folks? It seems wildly obvious that after creating a GROUP, you might wanna’ communicate with them in bulk… not one by one.

    Group what?

    Groups aren’t a built in feature of WP (nor is emailing roles, for that matter), so you’d have to find a way to define the groups. If you’re already using roles, why not use a plugin like Members to create new roles for your ‘groups’ and mail to them.

    I’ve just installed the groups plug-in and this is somehing I’d dearly like to be able to do. I see the Groups plug-in doesn’t (appear to) offer this facility right now – are there any plans to add it in the future? – would make this plug-in exactly what I need!

    Thanks for your suggestion Michael, yes I agree that would be a useful addition to Groups – I’m thinking about full messaging as well as notifications. If there’s enough interest in that …
