Hi Vince,
Backups are sent to the remote storage, and after they’ve arrived there, no local copy retained. The retention settings refer to the remote storage (if any).
David
Thanks for the info.
I’d prefer to have backups stored on the server as well as in Dropbox. Is there a way to make this happen?
Thanks
Hi Vince,
There is an option in the ‘Expert Settings’ section of the Settings tab labelled ‘Delete local backup’.
If you disable this option and save your settings, all backups will be kept on the local server after being uploaded. However, you will have to manually keep track of these backups, as the retention settings will not be applied to the copies of the server.
OK thanks, I’ve disabled that option.
Am I correct to assume that the “Delete” buttons under Existing Backups refers to the Dropbox files now? Is there any way to delete the old local backups on the server from within WP once I’ve set it up like this?
Thanks
Hi,
If you press the “Delete” button, then it will always delete a local backup (if any), but provide a tick-box to allow you to decide whether you want to also delete the remote one.
