SEO Suicide?
-
When I originally installed WordPress, I installed it in a folder (called wordpress, http://www.993C4S.com/wordpress). My original intent was to have a robust site with a static index page with links to a forum, gallery, blog, classifieds, etc. Long story short, the blog became popular quickly so I’ve decided to leave things as is.
So, today, I moved my index.php and my .htaccess file to the root directory of my web-server. Does anyone know if this will effect SERP?
Would I be better off moving things back and just changing the .htaccess file to do a 301 redirect. This way, anyone that came to http://www.993C4S.com would 301 redirect to http://www.993C4S.com/wordpress
If anyone knows the answer to this, it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John
