• I’m noticing a strange category permalink when using SEO Ultimate with single category permalinks (unless its seo ultimate by design). It seems that this results in the removal of the base category twice.

First removing the /category/ base and second removing the parent category when linking to a category / archive page.

    So

    thesite.ext/category/parent-category/child-category/

    becomes

    thesite.ext/child-category/

    Menu’s retain the correctly link

    thesite.ext/parent-category/child-category/

    however they get rewritten to

    thesite.ext/child-category/

post pages are fine, just links to archive pages

This causes an interesting problem when the same child name is used in different parent categories.

It would also be great if this (single cat permalink) feature was integrated into SEO Ultimate.

We will set up a test locally to recreate. If successful, we will create a ticket for the next build and crush this bug.

When you created the parent category, did you use a page and then sub-page as a child to the page as category and then post for post under the sub-page/category?

    @jeffrey:

    OK, great.

    Parent categories were categories.
Child categories were child categories of parent categories (no pages).

Single cat permalink plugin only modifies category permalinks, not pages.

    Hope that clarifies ?
