Separating product categories within clusters?

Hi,

I’m having a hard time understanding how product category filters work.

I have a large catalogue of wines and the structure is as follows:

Categories:

# Grape
– Malbec
– Merlot
– Chardonnay

# Country
– France
– Italy
– Chile

Is it possible to use multi checkboxes in order to narrow the search?

Because wines have multiple values for categories, meaning they are Merlots from Chile or Chardonnays from France. The closest thing I could do is using multi-dropdown to have the option to choose more than one category, but instead of narrowing the search the multiple options will only broaden it.
