Seriously Confused

    We just downloaded everything and bought hosting to use a ww.wp.xz.cn site. We want to buy a theme and use plugins etc. so we DO NOT want a wordpress.com site but a .org site. We’ve followed everything on the easy five-minute install (which was neither easy, nor even remotely five-minutes).

    Now we just want to log in and start messing with our site but none of the different options for wp-admin are bringing up any kind of dashboard whatsoever. In fact, it just keeps trying to get us to pay wordpress.com $13 to redirect our domain there which we obviously do not want to do…right?

    We are so confused at this point, we are almost regretting even trying to set this up. Please help.

    I get the idea from your text that you’re slightly lost.

    In your browser type the url of your domainname.
    e.g. http://myveryowndomain.com

    If you indeed completed a WP.org – install, you will see your site.
    If the install was unsuccessful / the domain cannot be found, something else will show.

    Please give the url and theme of your site so we can give ‘made to measure’ advice.

    All of that is free right here, and with support to complement it. So, be certain you really want to go in that kind of direction before purchasing anything other than a domain name and hosting.
