• Having a bit of a nightmare getting a site back online.

Basically I have a client who are a local renewable energy company. They started to show signs that they were going to try and not pay for my work so I took them offline.

I did this by altering some of the .php pages in editor on WordPress so they contained no text (obviously made a back up of these files first).

Yesterday morning they paid up so I went to upload the files and put them back online but I keep getting HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

I then created a seperate wordpress database and copied some of the information across. Luckily I’ve got this page back to normal now but I’d like to know how I can get this from a being http://www.renewable-energy-solutions-southwest.co.uk/wordpress/ back to http://www.renewable-energy-solutions-southwest.co.uk/.

It would be even more of a bonus if I can fix the problem with the root domain but I haven’t got a clue why it’s not working. All I did was change some files and then re-upload them on the Monday.

[No bumping, thank you. If it’s that urgent, hire someone.]
