After installing some safety features through Defender (free version), my website form-fill submissions started to experience issues. The plugin I use for my web forms is Elementor Pro.

As of the day I installed Defendor, I now no longer receive email copies of all form submissions, which began to get stuck in limbo.

This is the message that pops up on my website upon clicking “submit” after filling out out an information form.

    “Server error. Form not sent.
    An error occurred.
    Server error. Form not sent.
    An error occurred.
Email Server error. Form not sent.
Email 2 Server error. Form not sent.
This Message is not visible for site visitors.”

On my website, this is the error message I receive with every form submitted:
    “Server error. Form not sent.”

I still receive their data entries and can call them, but my email no longer receives a receipt of their submission.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @joshuagrice !

I’m very sorry to hear that you’ve experienced an issue while using our plugin.

I was able to replicate the error message – you should have received my test submission as well. However it looks like that’s not actually related to Defender, perhaps the issue simply occurred by coincidence at the same time as your hosting made a change to the configuration.

The issue is well known, you can check the article here: https://www.wppagebuilders.com/fix-server-error-form-not-sent-elementor/ (it’s from a few months ago and still valid, including the solution)

The solution here is simple – setting up SMTP sending on the site. You can use any of the available plugins for this, there are many of them:
    – Branda (our plugin, free)
    – WP Mail SMTP
    – Post SMTP Mailer

The configuration is basically the same as setting up an email app and the credentials are usually also the same.

You can also contact your hosting support and ask them if they’ve made any changes to the mail system recently, but chances are they won’t revert those to the previous state.

    Best regards,
    Pawel
