I’m just getting my head back into creating galleries after a break of 10 years.
I’m surprised after this time that the serving of scaled images isn’t handled by the gallery.

Am I able to to use a caching plugin like optimole with envira? If not what would be the best strategy for optimising images?

I was hoping to be able to display large high-quality images should people want them, so I was planning on uploading everything at ~3000px wide, and allowing the caching plugins to resize them down to sensible sizes for serving.

I’m also assuming that the gallery will create 3 sizes thumbnail, page and lightbox enlargement. Is that correct, or does the gallery not create anything at all?

    Hi, @gcediblemediacomau

We don’t have any reports of optimole or any other image optimization plugins having any conflicts with Envira gallery so you can use it based on their different settings as no other strategy is needed.

Regarding your other question, WordPress creates the registered media sizes, Envira does it on gallery save as it will differ depending on the gallery settings you are using.
