The previous version of the plugin had an easy way to set maximum dimensions and quality for the uploaded images. How is that done now?

  • @macsuibhne I’m using the plugin EWWW Image Optimizer for this and it seems to work well.
I have dimensions set at max 1000 px width and height

Note that this will resize any images you upload anywhere on the site
To prevent an image from being resized, regardless of the dimensions,
insert the string ‘noresize’ into the filename before upload.

    Hi @macsuibhne,

I apologize for the late reply here.

Great question, and thanks for reaching out.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, as the options you mentioned were removed in the NextGEN Gallery 4.0 UI update. The update now uses either default values or values you previously set in the “NextGEN Gallery > Other Options > Image Options” menu.

I understand the disruption this might cause, so I’m happy to submit these as feature requests to consider bringing them back.

If you need to access the old Imagely settings, follow these steps:

    1. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Append this query string to your website URL: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden, then press enter. Your URL should look like this: https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden.
    3. To enable access to the Legacy version, toggle the button and refresh the page:  https://a.supportally.com/i/wfvnnH

Please remember these are deprecated settings; our support for issues from these settings will be limited.

I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out with any more questions.

    Thanks! 🙂
