• I am new to Word Press and am trying to set up my store.
    In trying to set up the USPS shipping plugin the documentation referred me to USPS. Instructions provide at USPS directed me to e-mail them for instructions on set-up. In writing to them I received the following response. Any information on set-up would be appreciated.

Before you can proceed, they will need to update their USPS integration. Please have your software provider contact us through API Support to request assistance with their cloud migration.

    When researching whether a software is properly integrated with the USPS, look for indications such as a reference to the USPS Cloud or Hybrid environment, directions for users to create their accounts on developers.usps.com or the Developers Portal, or documentation indicating that they're calling the endpoints at apis.usps.com.

    Step 1: Register for a USPS Web Tools Account
    Go to the USPS Web Tools registration page.
    Fill out the required information to create an account.
    Once registered, you will receive an email with your USPS Web Tools User ID.
    Step 2: Get USPS API Credentials
    After registration, log in to the USPS Web Tools website.
    Navigate to the API documentation and find the credentials. Please follow the attached list of credentials required for integration
    Please follow the steps provided by USPS to get the credentials.
    Once you have your credentials you need to request access to API by following the below link.

    Step 3: Install and Activate ELEX WooCommerce USPS Shipping Plugin

    Go to your WordPress dashboard.
    Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
    Search for “ELEX WooCommerce USPS Shipping Plugin.”
    Install and activate the plugin.

    Step 4: Configure the Plugin with USPS API Credentials

    Once the plugin is activated, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > ELEX USPS.
    Click on the General Settings tab.
    Enter your USPS API 3 credentials (Client id and Client Secret) in the appropriate field.
    Configure other settings as needed, such as the origin postcode, debug mode, and other preferences.
    Now go to the Label Generation tab and enter the additional credentials for “Label Generation” along with the mandatory fields.

    Step 5: Test the Integration
    After entering the API credentials, you can test the integration by placing a test order.
    Go through the checkout process and ensure that USPS shipping rates are being calculated correctly and you are able to generate the shipping label.

    What USPS services and/or information would you like to access through this Software Vendor or Plug-In? (e.g., rate shopping, label generation, address validation, etc.)

    The USPS team has moved the integration from the prem app to cloud-based software, so the API endpoint will differ for both integrations. It appears that you have created the app using the new cloud-based integration instead of the Prem app integration. We are currently using the prem app integration with our plugin, so I recommend creating the prem app and using this integration with our plugin.

    Additionally, you can check the information in the USPS developer guide, which states that existing third-party software (ELEX USPS shipping plugin) can utilize the prem app integration.
