    Hello

    Ok here is my issue:
I have Venue Title: Hope Village Hall
    Post code: SY5 0JB
    Lat Long: 52.608792,-2.976549

I would Like venue to be displayed: Hope Village Hall, SY5 0JB

If I put no address details in then google map link does not show even with coordinates typed in.
If any info is put into the address details it appears that google then searches the map on that detail around the LatLong position.
Can a tick box be added next to LatLong to completely override and place google pin at that location?
If I add just the postcode and latlong google maps searches on the postcode not the latlong.
If I put the address in as:Hope Village Hall, SY5 0JB the postcode is overridden and correct map location is displayed with google searching on: Hope+Village+Hall/@52.608792,-2.976549 [this is perfect for this example as Hope Village Hall is a place on google maps and this is then highlighted with the google pin as my venue]
BUT my event’s venue info is then rendered as:
    Hope Village Hall,Hope Village Hall, SY5 0JB
This is ugly. Is there a way to send the venue title to google instead of the address first line? or have display tick boxes next to venue address info?

    Thank you for the plugin.

OK forget most of the rubbish I have typed above. Google finds my new venue with address Hope Village Hall without any coordinates. I need some convincing that the co-ordinate function is sending any LatLong to google. Does anyone have this function working at all?

The co-ordinates work for embedded map, but you need at least one blank character in one of the address fields to make map appear in event post.
“+google map” link does not take LatLong to google maps open in new tab, instead google searches on any available info in address fields.
Still would be good to be able to select which fields are displayed as venue with same address as title looks ugly.
eg Hope Village Hall, Hope Village Hall, SY5 0JB

    Cheers

    Hi!

“+google map” link does not take LatLong to google maps open in new tab, instead google searches on any available info in address fields.

The venue coordinates part of Event Rocket are intended only to impact on embedded maps, not the map link.

I’m definitely open to the idea of extending it to cover other areas, though, and if you’d like to open an issue over on GitHub that will ensure I don’t lose sight of this (or indeed this could be a further customization of your own) 🙂

I’ll add a caveat that this feature may or may not be developed further, depending on if an official implementation comes along and is baked into The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO.

The co-ordinates work for embedded map, but you need at least one blank character in one of the address fields to make map appear in event post.

So you could work around this, but it’s really a matter of customizing The Events Calendar – possibly by using template overrides – rather than being something Event Rocket is responsible for.

    Thank you Barry,

    That clears that up then.

Latlong on the google link would be great as Postcode addresses here in the UK can be very inaccurate when you want people to meet at a car park on a hill.

    Cheers
