that is very unusual and should not be the case. Can you provide any more details about your installation (normal or multisite, WP version, list of other plugins etc.)?
At the moment your are the first one to report such a problem. Do you lose all settings in the admin interface (on all tabs) or only certain?

I am updating using WP CLI.
There was a fix in 4.4.0 (https://plugins.svn.ww.wp.xz.cn/shariff/trunk/changelog.txt) but it looks like the fix has been removed..

the change from 4.4.0 is still there. Also I just updated multiple sites using the WordPress Toolkit from Plesk which basically is just a GUI for wp-cli and still wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. I’ll stay on it to see if I can find any hint. If you can provide any further details about your specific configuration that might help narrow it down, let me know.
