Trying to modify the settings and I get a spinner for a few minutes followed by a 503 – service unavailable. It’s frustrating as I can no longer update any settings.

The reason I need to load Settings it to look at the options here needed to enable a visitor to the website to see the UPLOAD box. Right now, it’d hidden unless the user is logged in. I see in the documentation the following:

If the visitor has no rights to upload (when there are no — public — albums and no albums owned by the visitor in the specified albums or in any albums in the default case, or the user is not logged in while you configured they should in Advanced settings -> Users -> 32: Upload logout unticked), the box and/or the widget will not be displayed.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This looks a temporarely problem of the server, try again later.
Do the other admin menu items of wppa work?

Unfortunately it’s not temporary, it’s not been loading for a long time. Weeks of trying. I can access all other menu items under the Photo Albums menu.

Is there a way to just load settings for a specific section to reduce the volume of the page?

If you just open the page, it only loads the items on the ‘General’ tab, 15 items, so that should not be an issue.
On my testsite it says a.o.: Memory used on this page: 12.00 Mb

Look at the servers error log, maybe that gives an idea.

I am seeing things like this:

[Wed Mar 01 05:51:05.943745 2023] [autoindex:error] [pid 303742:tid 140073932896000] [client 66.249.75.86:0] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /home4/wallybit/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wppa/temp/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html.var,index.htm,index.html,index.shtml,index.xhtml,index.wml,index.perl,index.pl,index.plx,index.ppl,index.cgi,index.jsp,index.js,index.jp,index.php4,index.php3,index.php,index.phtml,default.htm,default.html,home.htm,index.php5,Default.html,Default.htm,home.html) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

    Any idea what this is?

Looks a filesystem error on the server

Does it work at the frontend?

Try de-activating and re-activating the plugin. If /home4/wallybit/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wppa/temp/ or /home4/wallybit/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wppa/thumbs/ not exist it will be re-created at re-activation.

    I just tried, no change.

I enabled WB_DEBUG and am checking error_log but I don’t see anything for wppa. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?

    Look here:
Photo Albums -> Albums -> Edit (any album with content) open Show Photo details of any photo. Do you see a thumbnail image?

    Thread Starter mankut92

    (@mankut92)

Yes, I can see the thumbnail and it loads.

I recommend to ask the hosting provider what to do with the errors

In the meantime, is there a way I can just toggle the setting of the Advanced settings -> Users -> 32: Upload logout to make it unticked? Maybe perhaps in the db directly? What table?

    Plugin Author Jacob N. Breetvelt

    (@opajaap)

Install plugin https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/tweak-option/ (by me, so reliable)

You will find it in the wp Tools menu.

Open it and scroll to wppa_upload_logout
It will read yes edit it to no, or simply delete the option. (the default is no)

This worked. While not ideal, I do appreciate your help with this.
