• Resolved studiorouxx

I have been trying to resolve an issue with emails not being received for my wife’s website.
I switched from her hotmail email address (using Brevo) to a professional one (via Titan)
I have tried to update the settings from Brevo to Other SMTP, but they won’t save.
I am concerned I have changed/messed around with the DNS records and completely messed it up. I have tried to uninstall the WP Mail SMTP plugin and reinstall (with the remove all data checked in misc) and it still is not working.
Any help would be hugely appreciated,

    Hi @studiorouxx,

Thanks for reaching out! First, I want to reassure you that simply changing the SMTP settings in WP Mail SMTP plugin should not affect your DNS records. The DNS records are managed separately from the SMTP settings, so you likely don’t need to worry about having messed those up.

Regarding the SMTP settings not saving, there are a couple possibilities:

    1. WP Mail SMTP constants: If you previously set up SMTP constants in your wp-config.php file (details here: https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-secure-smtp-settings-by-using-constants/), those will override the settings in the plugin. You’ll need to either remove the constants or update them with the new SMTP details.
    2. Plugin conflict: It’s possible another plugin is conflicting with WP Mail SMTP. To test this, you can temporarily deactivate all other plugins, and see whether you can change your settings.
    3. Try temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One. If the issue is resolved with the default theme, that would indicate a conflict with your current theme.

If you’re still experiencing issues after trying those steps, please reach out to your hosting support and they should be able to assist you further.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!
