I am trying to set up Postie, but seem to be missing something. Our site is hosted at Bluehost.

When I run the test config here is the message I receive:
    Encoding

    default_charset: UTF-8

    DB_CHARSET: utf8

    DB_COLLATE: database default

    WordPress encoding: UTF-8

    Connect to Mail Host

    Postie connection: sockets

    Postie protocol: imap-ssl

    Postie server: imap.gmail.com

    Postie port: 993

    pConnection: mailbox: INBOX

    Connecting via Socket

    Socket: tls://imap.gmail.com:993

Socket error: 110 – Connection timed out

Unable to connect. The server said: There was an error connecting to the server Connection timed out

    Test complete

    What have I missed?

BlueHost doesn’t allow connections to outside mail servers on some hosting plans. You need to use a BlueHost provided email.

It seems to be working now, after creating an email account in Bluehost. My settings are: Sockets, IMAP, Port 143.

We don’t need to post everyday, but are posts are day specific, is there a way to have a post delete itself after midnight automatically?

    Nice tool, thanks

Posts that Postie creates are just standard posts, nothing special about them. That means you can use any of the post expiring plugins.
