Setup problems

First, make sure you have the Jetpack plugin’s Custom Content Types module active — it’s needed to add portfolio projects.

Once it’s active:

– Add portfolio projects under your new Portfolio dashboard item, making sure each one has a featured image.
– Create a static page to use as your front page. Select the Portfolio Page template from the Page Attributes box.
– In your Customizer’s Static Front Page panel, assign the page you just created as your static front page.

Have you activated the Custom Content Types module, in your Jetpack settings? Once you do that, you should see a new item in your dashboard called Portfolios.

In your site’s homepage, go to Settings → Writing → Custom Content Types and make sure the “Portfolio Projects” option is enabled. When you’re done, save your changes.

That step is only needed for sites that don’t have built-in portfolio support, which Espied does, so you won’t see that note. But you do need to activate the Custom Content Types module.

You’ll need to add a Featured Image for each portfolio project — that’s what appears on the front page. It’s the box below Project Tags.
