Hello forkenbrock,
Thank you for your interest in our plugin. We have looked into the problem you described. It seems that we have lost some compatibility with CF7 and the recent update to 7.3.9. If you want, you can continue to use EBD with the older version found [here](downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/contact-form-7.3.8.zip).
We are working on an update that will allow us to work with 7.3.9. Thank you for your help and your understanding.
Hello, the recent update did not address this problem. Not sure if it was intended to.
Thanks
I downgraded from CF 3.9 to 3.8, but there was no change in the issues described above.
Thanks
Also tried downgrading to CF 3.6, but this did not help. Maybe the issues I’m experiencing are not related to the CF plugin?
Hello,
It is possible that this is unrelated. Make sure that both CF7 and Download Monitor function on their own as well.
Check out our resources on our page as well, including our paid support
It looks like the issue must be related to Google conflicting with CF 7. Before the “From” section of the form read like this: [JaguarAudioDesign.com] <[[email protected]]>. It now produces (unknown sender) in the from field of the email, as well as the message “via yourhostingaccount.com” in the mailed-by field.
mailed-by: jaguaraudiodesign.com (before)
mailed-by: yourhostingaccount.com (now)
According to Google this is related to the spam filter, which must be catching the EBD message with the attachment before it even hits the Inbox or the Spambox.
It appears that the CF email is arriving and I’m guessing the EBD email is not arriving, because it has an attachment.

According to Google support this appears when Gmail addresses determine that this message is arriving from a third party, so other users might be experiencing this issue when messages are sent to Gmail accounts. The following instruction is given, but I don’t quite follow what it means.
“Gmail checks whether emails are correctly authenticated. If your messages are sent by a bulk mailing vendor or by third-party affiliates, please publish an SPF record that includes the IPs of the vendor or affiliates which send your messages and sign your messages with a DKIM signature that is associated with your domain.”
Downgrading Download Monitor didn’t help. I was going to try to downgrade EBD, but I can’t figure out the URL for prior versions. If you can supply a link I will give it a try. If that doesn’t work I will go to the paid support option; can’t beat that for $10.
Thanks
I have had loads of problems I used to use this plug in just fine but no matter what I do now it wont work. Please see here.
I can’t make any sense of why it can’t find the link to my file

please could you advise why it’s not showing a link?
Hello OneLine, these issues are very difficult for the plugin developer to keep control of when you have no control over changes to the other plugins. However, the $10 paid support is a generous feature. Paid tech support would cost $100 per hour for anything else. I will probably go that route and you should consider it.
Wow – well I would have thought a free plugin working in the most basic form would be included in the free-ness and sharing of it all.
$100 per hour is about triple what I make as a start up and so not really an option.
I said that $100 per hour is what you would normally pay for tech support with another company, but the plugin developer has a support option that’s $10. Anyone can afford an amount like that. These developers could probably make a lot of money doing something else, so it’s good to acknowledge their work and the value to your site by occasionally sending a Paypal payment their way, even if it’s a small amount.
Hello OneLineStudio,
We are sorry that you are having difficulties. From the link you provided, it appears that your ajax is not working. You can check out http://contactform7.com/why-isnt-my-ajax-contact-form-working-correctly/ to find out more about that issue.
forkenbrock,
If you would like to provide us with a link to a test page, we would be happy to take a look, though it seems like your issue might be more complicated.
Sure, this page below used to generate two emails, one from CF7 and another from EBD with the attachment. Now the EBD file does not arrive. As I mentioned above, I thought it might have something to do with what I’m seeing in the “mailed by:” field. Very strange that it just stopped working without any changes other than the new WP version. The only thing I haven’t tried was to downgrade the EBD plugin.

Hi mandsconsulting,
Re the contact form on this page http://www.onelinestudio.co.uk/freebrandingdownload
thank you for your advice.
I have downloaded and installed firebug as suggested on the link you sent me but when I ask it to show page errors nothing happens.
I have also tried changing the mailed to address to one which ends in the same URL as my site but again this hasn’t resolved the issue.
What do you mean by test page? – I’m happy to send if you’re able to advise further and will of course make a small donation for your time on this resolution
OneLineStudio,
Have you made sure that both CF7 and Download Monitor work on their own? The best way to do this is have a test page with the shortcode for just the Contact Form and a second shortcode for just the download.
