Shadowbox JS challenge

I’d really appreciate it if someone could advise on this issue. I have Shadowbox JS running and I need to group a series of images into an album so one representative image is displayed on the WordPress page with an album name under it. When you click that image it then plays the whole album in Shadowbox.

Can I do this in Shadowbox? I hope so. My reading of the link below (last section about fine grain control) implies that you can. But I can’t really work out how. I need this in simple terms.

If this is not possible, is there another good way? Not using galleries.
