I’m sure you’re in the same predicament as others… Endless botched updates, restoring backups left right and centre to try and restore your sites. Multiply this over multiple sites (luckily I only have 3 but it’s still taken up nearly 2 full days of my time) and you have a big issue on your hands.

    All in all, a shambles.

    Hi @nanasflowers,

    Thanks for your comment.

We are sorry for any problems you’ve had with the new plugin release. Yoast SEO version 14 introduces the indexables feature which is aimed to improve the load speed of your website. Despite weeks and weeks of testing, the 14.0 release didn’t work as flawlessly for everybody as we’d hoped. Some users had problems upgrading, or with indexing their content. Please, refer to this post for more information about the mistakes we made and our reasoning: https://developer.yoast.com/blog/yoast-seo-14-0-x/

We’ve already released four patches to address those problems, and will continue to patch for any other edge-cases which we discover. We expect that the vast majority of users who had the original issues are now resolved if they update to v14.0.4.

If you still experience any issues with the latest version of the plugin, we’d appreciate it if you could create a new support topic so that our support team can look into the issue: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/

    Thanks!

Your canned message is useless c ause the patches do NOTHING.

As a follow up the following patches did resolve my issue. However the fact this is one of the top plugins used by MILLIONS of websites worldwide, the testing should have been far more thorough and not happened in the first place. Imagine you bought a new car and forward gear sent it into reverse…

    Hi @nanasflowers,

We are glad to hear the problem is resolved for you. We did test the new release extensively for several weeks, across multiple configurations and systems, but surely it wasn’t enough to prevent any issues on many of our users’ sites. As soon as we found out there were problems with some WordPress and server setups, we acted accordingly releasing a new plugin version with fixes. We understand this is far from ideal for our users, so we are sorry for the trouble!
