I think this is about the share addon? As far as I know you can only share images on Instagram and not websites.
Yes, this is about the share add-on.
When I click on the “Instagram” share button, the word “Follow” appears, and a click goes to the Instagram account page. It doesn’t share the featured image from the page as a new Instagram post. How do we activate “Share” rather than “Follow”?
At the moment that’s not possible.
We want to add some form of image sharing at some point, but that’s on the todo list.
To clarify. I did a search to check if we can add something like social sharing to Instagram.
Instagram itself doesn’t allow any other media to be added to the timeline via links, websites and such. Only via the App on the phone / phone gallery. This means it’s technically impossible for us to add a feature like this sadly.
This means the only option for Instagram we can have is linking to your profile.
