• I have a wordpress site running (for eg. at example.com). The media folder is the default location.

I set up another WP instance (NOT multisite but a fresh new installation) in a folder within example.com (say: example.com/brand). It is obvious that the media location for new installation will be example.com/brand/wp-content/uploads.
However, I want to be able to use both example.com/wp-content/uploads and example.com/brand/wp-content/uploads for the new installation (at example.com/brand). What I mean is, images from both these locations should show up in Media in the new installation.
I tried looking for plugins that can do this and even looked over a lot of forums but could not find any solution.

Thank you for your response. However, this is not what I am looking for.
    1. I am not using multisite and I am not planning on using multisite.
    2. I am not looking for sharing the same media folder everywhere. I am looking for a way to use two media folders for one WP installation, such that the “Media” in WP admin will show contents from both the folders.
