Shipping Addresses

    Hi,

    First, thanks for developing this – a reliable gift registry has been sorely needed for sometime.

    We are currently testing the lite version, with a view to purchasing the full version shortly.

    A couple of things:

    1. Ideally the shipping address should be pre-filled at checkout with the registry owner’s chosen address (from registry settings). In our case, we’d set our office address as we hold onto gift registry purchases and deliver all in one go. This also means each person purchasing something from the list wouldn’t have to pay shipping…

    2. We’d like to see the option to hide the ‘Add to registry’ button from the archive page (not a huge issue as we’ve hidden it with css for now).

    Thanks for the compliment.

    Concerning your first suggestion, the checkout shipping address is separate from the gift registry shipping address to give the customer maximum flexibility when purchasing items. For example a customer may want to purchase some normal items for himself and some for a gift registry owner, say his friend. In that case the checkout shipping address would be for the normal items being shipped to him and the gift registry shipping address would be for the items being shipped to the gift registry owner. Your case is unique because you seem to be operating a full gift registry website. I would consider how I can factor in your use case in a future update. For now you may just have to disable the gift registry shipping address for your customers and manually pre-fill the checkout shipping address with your store address.

    2. The option to hide the add to gift registry button from the archive page is already in the full version but i’d consider adding it to the lite version, I wanted to make the lite version as lite as possible to fit most use cases.

    Thank you for the reply.

    The registry part of our website is quite small – we’ve avoided the shipping issue before by providing a coupon code to registry owners to share with their guests that provides free shipping. If you can come up with something better that would be great!

    Regarding hiding the button, I expect we’ll be buying the pro version once we’ve had a live run with a real customer!

    Hello annesovierzoski,

    It is only in the full version of the plugin that you can set the shipping address of the order to the wishlist’s owner’s address.
