Shipping Advice

My client has one product that they’re trying to sell, PRODUCT A.
A chained item gets added to the cart and is a free item, PRODUCT B.

How can I set up the shipping so that the options reflect ground shipping and overnight shipping, but the value is only calculated by PRODUCT A?

Currently I have (8.95 * [qty]) as the flat rate formula, but with PRODUCT B in the cart, the shipping values are off and is now double the correct amount. [qty] should be directly related to the number of PRODUCT A in the cart and nothing else.

How can I accomplish this?
