    Hi!

I have small items on my site that cost as much as one stamp to mail. I’m using the USPS Shipping Method, and have checked:

    – item size and weight are correct
    – flat rates are off
    – shipping zones are all continental united states
    – use commercial rates

For a letter in an envelope, the cheapest rate is almost $5. When I go through Woocommerce shipping, based on size and weight it returns a cost of $1. I can’t see any errors in debug logs, I don’t have any extra costs tacked on anywhere, etc. I cannot determine if this is USPS not returning proper information or if there is some setting in Woo that I’m somehow unaware of.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

I understand how confusing this can be, especially when the returned rates don’t match what you’d expect for something like a stamped letter.

Based on what you’ve described, this behavior is coming from the USPS Shipping Method integration rather than WooCommerce core itself. In this forum, we’re only able to provide support for WooCommerce core features, and shipping rate calculations from USPS are handled by the specific shipping plugin and the API it uses.

To get a more accurate answer on why USPS is returning higher rates (e.g., ~$5 instead of ~$1), I recommend reaching out to the plugin’s support team directly. They’ll be in the best position to review how the request is being sent and what USPS is returning.

Thank you for cooperation and understanding.
