I’ve tried 4 different shipping packages and all are having the same issue with woocommerce.
The issue below has cropped up over the last couple of days, causing site crashes. Woocommerce is enabled btw.
I’ve used the error for the plugin Weight Based Shipping but the same comes up with Flexible Shipping for WooCommerce, Custom Shipping Methods for WooCommerce and Shipping Packages for WooCommerce, the common thread being WooCommerce
Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce disabled. Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce could not locate WooCommerce. Make sure WooCommerce is installed in the standard folder and activated.
WooCommerce has detected that some of your active plugins are incompatible with currently enabled WooCommerce features.
Any help gratefully received, as we can’t send products out atm Thanks
only when I activate them. I also use a code snippet for the weight based shipping mod and that auto disabled with a fatal error.
The error above is showing in headers across the website. I’m unable to paste a screen shot using either of the links, I originally posted a copy and paste instead
I have now done a roll back a couple of days to before some updates, to see if they are causing it, the error log above is to that point not to when I originally posted, but the issue is still there, with those updates not done. I hadn’t been behind the scenes for over a week to know when it started
Since the issue only occurs when the shipping plugins or the related code snippet are activated, this suggests that WooCommerce itself is loading correctly, but something is preventing those extensions from properly detecting or interacting with WooCommerce.
Please double-check that WooCommerce is installed in the default directory at /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/. If the folder name has been changed or symlinked, some extensions may fail to locate WooCommerce and throw this type of error.
You also mentioned that the code snippet auto-disables due to a fatal error. This strongly points to a PHP error or compatibility issue. At this stage, I’d recommend keeping all custom code snippets disabled while testing, as custom code falls outside our support scope but can directly impact plugin behavior.
On a staging site, please try activating WooCommerce only, and then enable one shipping plugin at a time. If the error appears immediately after activating a specific plugin, that would indicate a compatibility issue with that extension, and the best next step would be to contact the plugin developer with the fatal error details.
It would also be helpful if you could share the System Status Report from WooCommerce > Status, along with any fatal error logs found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.
we’ve only activated one shipping plugin at a time, so we could see which it was. Woocommerce is still where it should be in it’s directory. I did initially contact the weight based shipping developer and try a different plugin but as we got the same error worked out it was woocommerce causing it
All custome codes have been turned off
We also had the same issue with Dokan not finding woo but that seems to have resolved now
Thanks for the update I understand how disruptive this is, especially with shipping being affected.
For testing purposes, I tried installing and activating a WooCommerce shipping plugin on my own test site, and I wasn’t able to reproduce the error you’re seeing. The plugin activated and worked as expected, as shown in this screenshot: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cOVtlFn3YYE
Since the issue isn’t reproducible in a standard environment, this suggests the behavior is likely related to your server or hosting environment, rather than a WooCommerce core issue. We’ve seen similar symptoms caused by things like PHP version changes, opcode or object caching, file permissions, or other server-level configuration issues.
At this stage, I’d recommend reaching out to your hosting provider and asking them to investigate why WooCommerce-dependent plugins are intermittently failing to detect WooCommerce on your site.
Because this issue involves third-party plugins and environment-level factors, it does fall outside the scope of WooCommerce core support. If you’d prefer hands-on assistance, you may want to consider working with a professional developer viaWooExperts and Codeable.io, who can take a closer look at your setup.
Please let us know if your host identifies anything specific we’re happy to help review any findings.
