Short code advanced options?

    Hi,

    Firstly, congrats on coming up with this amazing plugin and thanks a lot for making it available to us. Will surely donate on getting cashflow 🙂

    I had a question about using short codes. I found your answer from a previous post about using [vidbg container=”” mp4=”” webm=”” poster=””].

    I wanted to add to this the 4 other advanced options (overlay, mute audio etc). Could you please write the example as before with all the advanced parameters added?

    I think the short code feature is very imp as many themes need page data to fill up template (Accesspress parallax theme(https://accesspressthemes.com/wordpress-themes/accesspress-parallax/) for example.So, only short codes work and not the default where we fill in the values.)

    Finally, can we link videos from youtube in future updates? My primary objective is to make a video background on any element/section of a homepage/post page. Much like we see in internet.org

    Hi Wp_Beginner,

    Thanks for the kind words! It’s much appreciated!

    Since the shortcode feature was dissolved in v1.0, the overlay, mute, and loop features are not noticed in the shortcode. I am in the works though of completely re-doing the shortcode feature to accept all of these parameters. I will keep in touch with you to let you know when the shortcode comes back 🙂

    As for the youtube videos, this may be a possibility down the road, but I have no time frame for such a feature right now.

    Thank you for your response. Will wait for the short code updates then :)Really important feature I guess. I will implement your plugin on live site after you update. For now the test site is doing great but just needs the update to make it look awesome 😉

    I forgot to mention, I would be very grateful if you can give an estimated time by when I can expect the updates with short code advanced options :)I accept it is only an estimation and no issue at all if it does not match in the future.

    It will help me manage my design task dates for my site.

    Hi Wp_begginer_pri,

    I’ve updated the plugin to support the corresponding shortcode fields(v2.4.0) however WordPress is not updating my repo page (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/video-background/). I’ve tried to get in contact with them but no luck so far. So here are the instructions for the shortcode’s additional fields for muting, overlay, and loop.
    [vidbg container="body" mp4="#" webm="#" poster="#" muted="true" loop="true" overlay="false"]
    The values keyed in here are the “default” values. I hope this helps! There will be more detailed instructions when the page is updated. Sorry for the long wait!
