Shortcode disappears after customizing page

    Hello there, I am the owner of a wordpress website, installed locally. I added a shortcode to my homepage, and when I log into wordpress and click on customize, then customize something, whether its related to the shortcode or not, the shortcode suddenly disappears. This happens with any shortcode, and it is pretty annoying. Is there any way to fix this?

    It disappears from the front end or the back end ?
    Are you using the ‘Text’ portion of the editor to input the shortcode ?
